Halito, micha aiokpanchi / Hello and Welcome

Welcome to Grace Indian UMC. We are a small congregation located in Hartshorne, Oklahoma. As part of the United Methodist Church our hearts, minds, and doors are open to everyone. We would be glad for you to join us for services and fellowship lunch every Sunday at noon. Come as you are; don't be shy.  We always have plenty to share.

Grace is part of the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference. While 90% of our small congregation is Native American and 75% of those are of Choctaw descent, our services are all in English. We do sing some Choctaw Hymns during our worship services. We would gladly welcome you teaching us to sing your traditional songs in your native language or sharing your special music with us.

It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4
30th Anniversary Celebration
What a truly blessed event this was August 29th, 2010 we celebrated 30 years at Grace. The walls of Grace were filled to over flowing with people in attendance from all over Oklahoma as well as Texas and from three different United Methodist Conferences, and ages 3 months to 94 years. Praise the Lord for everyone who came to worship with us and who has been associated with the family of Grace for the past 30 years. The adult Sunday School class had 46 in attendance the children sang a Choctaw Hymn for the worship service. Rev. David Wilson OIMC superintendent brought the 11 o'clock message and at the end of the service the whole congregation participated in a Renewal for the Future dedication litany. An official count on attendance was not taken but a minimum of 100 people were in attendance. After the fellowship lunch guest returned to the church where they continued celebrating through song and praise. A video slide show was presented showing pictures of members and buildings from before Grace was built to the present. Guest shared stories of their lives and involvement with Grace and how they have been blessed by the family at Grace over the years. During this time of remembrance we also looked to the future and took up an offering to be given to the newest church in 30 years to form in the South East Region of the OIMC  since Grace was dedicated. This offering was given to the new CHIHOWA OKLA UMC in Durant, Oklahoma which was dedicated in late July.
