The members of Grace hosted the elementary students from the Jones Academy Indian boarding school. We had 44 students attend evenly split 22 girls and 22 boys. The church members prepared and served the children and their chaperones a traditional holiday meal with all the trimmings. After the meal the Christmas story from Luke Ch 2 was read to the children by the Choctaw Language class in Choctaw. Then the members of Grace presented a Christmas pageant. At the end of the program Christmas Stockings filled with candy and other treats and gifts were given out to the children.
Christmas Stockings pictured above were made and donated by women from the Kansas City area who helped collect various toy items and donated them to the children of Jones Academy. Yakoke to these women for their generous gifts of love for the Indian children. They also donated Stockings and toys to the children of St. Paul UMC in Talihina, Oklahoma.
Our Local Mission Work
The members of Grace have agreed to reach out to and fellowship with the children of the Jones Academy Indian Boarding School. This Boarding school is run by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. It is a boarding school for all Indian tribes and has many students from out of state as well. The School has children from grades K-12. With grades K-6 being taught on the grounds of Jones Academy while grades 7-12 attend Hartshorne Public School.
Currently none of the children attend services at Grace UMC.
If your child is a student at Jones Academy and you would like them to attend Sunday School and worship services with us. We would be glad to have them join us. We do have a church van to transport them to and from services. Please let us know of your decision to have them join our Sunday services and we can get it set up and arranged with the staff at the school.

Come hear the Word of God
It's that time of year again. We are greatly anticipating the return of students to Jones Academy this month. We are once again planning to host them for a back to school event in early September. They were such a blessing to us last year we can't wait to fellowship with them again and look forward to seeing those we got to know last year and welcome new friends this year.
